Statement

Todd’s art combines classical graphite drawing with modern technology to highlight the complex impacts of technology on mental health. His work seeks to create a visual dialogue that resonates emotionally, encouraging audiences to reflect on the overstimulation and mental strain tied to our online lives. Through this blend of traditional and contemporary elements, Todd’s pieces reveal the hidden effects of digital interactions on our psychological well-being.

His use of graphite drawing invites a detailed examination, while the integration of digital influences reflects the duality of our engagement with technology: alluring yet potentially destructive. Todd’s work urges viewers to confront how social media and contemporary technology shapes our lives and to consider its deep-rooted effects on mental health. By merging and comparing historical symbols of idealism, heroism, love, power and divinity with contemporary motifs, he shines a light on our digital entrapment and encourages critical reflection about the psychological implications of technology’s hold on modern society.

“By shifting your perspective, the world before you begins to shift.  The new perspectives we encounter are often less about the thing itself and more about how open we are to receiving it's message.”
